Standing at stud: CH. Tartana Hubert Featherman, MH, CGC, UT
Here is a unique opportunity to breed to what has been referred to as...
"One of the finest working Gordon Setter stud dogs currently available."
Excellent conformation, biddability, temperament, ability and personality.
Proven on wild birds!
Natural retriever!
Producing uniform, healthy puppies that begin pointing at 7 weeks!
What do others have to say about Hubert?
"The breed could use a lot more dogs like Hubert."
and
"If I had a buck for every bird I've seen that dog point I'd be a happy man."
and
"He is pure bird dog; and this coming from someone who's seen that dog run well over a hundred times."
and
"Hubert is legendary!"

Harkening back to a bygone era Hubert offers the serious gunner memories of style and class that befit his ancestry on the moors of Scotland. His excellent conformation, pleasing gate, drive and desire belie his docile temperament and gentle personality.
An all day gun dog, he has completed many days in a row as the only dog on the ground. At home on the prairie, rolling open hills or in the grouse woods his adaptable hunting style affords incredible opportunity for the gunner. He works for the guns no matter how many and adjusts accordingly.
Having completed the rigorous demands of the American Kennels Club’s Master Hunter, he is as mannered as he is skilled. His North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association Utility title demonstrates his prowess on waterfowl, making him as good a companion in a blind as coursing the grouse woods. His Champion title shows that he is as "beautiful" as he is effective.
Hubert has seen competition in Texas, Minnesota, Illinois, Michigan and Wisconsin. He has hunted the entire upper Mid-West and adjusts to species almost instantly. He seems to possess an almost innate understanding of the quarry he seeks.
He weighs in at approximately 62 pounds and despite his beauty, looks to be a dog with a purpose. His job is finding, pointing and retrieving birds. Even with his almost unebbing drive and desire to continue when other dogs (and hunters) give out, he happily and easily resides in the house and sleeps on my thirteen year old daughters' bed nightly.
The best way to decide if Hubert is the stud dog for your needs, all you need to do is meet him, hunt over him and enjoy his company. He brings the best the breed has to offer and is without peer – regardless of breed.
Hubert has completed the AKC requirements for Master Hunter as well as qualifying additional times (20 Master Hunter Ribbons) and continues to run in both hunt tests and field trials. If the information provided me is correct he is only the second Gordon Setter to attain a NAVHDA Utility title and the only one to do it on the first try. He is the only Gordon Setter to even attempt the NAVHDA Utility Test in the last five years. He is definitely not only the first, but also the only Gordon Setter in breed history to ever achieve a Championship title and Master Hunter title as well as a NAVHDA Utility title. While in the show ring, Hubert also won multiple Best of Breed ribbons on his way to earning his Champion title.
He excels at Ruffed Grouse and has hunted wild pheasants in North Dakota and South Dakota, Sharp-tailed Grouse, Bobwhite Quail, and preserve stocked pheasants, chucker and huns. I use him frequently to guide at local hunt clubs and he has had thousands of birds shot over him.
